OPAD method

5 ways to rethink learning and development

Download the guide

Content curation is Edflex's specialty. For several years, our learning experts have been reading articles, listening to podcasts, watching videos, following and creating learning paths... In order to select only the best online learning content for our customers.

But how do they determine if the content is qualitative enough? How do we decide between two similar content providers to be integrated into our offer? What criteria are prohibitive?

I joined their team to understand the secrets that make Edflex the French (and soon European) leader in content aggregation and curation.

OPAD, a unique and innovative methodology

Selecting tons of content is useless.

Surely you have already experienced it yourself, too much choice kills the choice. In learning, it's the same: learners don't know where to start. As a result, commitment weakens and the rise in skills slows down, leading to a chain of negative consequences (reduced performance, dissatisfaction, loss of productivity, etc.).

To overcome this vicious circle, our learning experts have established a unique OPAD methodology to determine the quality level of learning content or a content provider.

It is today through more than 20 criteria that they qualify the content found online before making it available to our users on their Edflex solution. Whether it's unique content or a full selection via our partner providers, we never integrate all content from a reliable and qualified source. Each content is individually examined and qualified through the OPAD method.

These criteria are our core expertise, so they will remain confidential. But let me explain to you the big four pillars of their method.

Origin

The origin of a content corresponds to its source. Here we question the reputation of the creator, his expertise and the coherence of his content. But this criterion alone is not enough.

Pedagogy

The educational aspect of a content is very important since it represents the very purpose of learning. It is therefore necessary to determine its relevance and educational value in a professional environment.

Accessibility

Accessibility is an issue that businesses are increasingly looking at. The languages available are of course important, as is digital accessibility on different devices or the level of the resource. But we are talking here too, and especially, about accessibility for people with disabilities, for example through subtitling.

At Edflex, we aspire to support each individual in their skills' development. This pillar is therefore essential to keep our promise.

In fact, we achieved an RGAA (General Accessibility Framework for Administrations) score of 62.71%. This score allows us to make our solution a reference for people with disabilities who want to learn online.

Design

Design is often underestimated, even though it plays an important role in the user experience. The appearance of the content should facilitate the understanding of the information and therefore avoid certain factors that are harmful to UX.

The foundations of our expertise

At Edflex, quality content is defined through several quality criteria that combine educational, practical and technical aspects. It must also exclude certain unacceptable criteria such as political, committed or religious content. Indeed, we take care to guarantee neutrality in the resources we share.

Thanks to this expertise developed by our teams, we managed to create the first effective and powerful curation method.

This process also allows us to update our content offer regularly to ensure the frequent renewal of the educational resources made available. Updating skills also involves regularly updating learning courses!

It is this meticulous work that guarantees the satisfaction of our customers' learners, who are trained on a daily basis with our content. Thanks to the OPAD method, our learners rate the content offered on Edflex at 4.9/5.

This method is also applied to content providers, with whom we build solid partnerships to offer the best of their learning courses on our solution.

In conclusion, we developed the OPAD methodology to meet the need for large-scale curation. These quality standards are unique to us, and they would certainly be different in another company. But for Edflex, they determine the essence of our solution.
